Consultation

A visit to the home/garden is made by the designer to gather all the information, needs and requirements of the client. The designer will discuss all details regarding the project, offering ideas as well as guideline budgets. A full survey of the garden is made which includes all garden measurements and existing features. If the client is satisfied, the designer will present an offer for the design, and an approximate cost of the finished garden.

Garden Layout Design

Once the offer has been accepted, the design of the garden is started. This is to include all the ideas and requirements of the client as well as suggestions by the designer. A layout plan of the entire garden is made including all the construction details required by a landscape contractor to build the garden.

Planting Plan

A separate planting plan is made individually suited to the tastes of the client. The planting plan is suited to the site conditions, e.g. light and shade, dry and wet areas, natural or formal areas etc.

Building/Construction

Once all the plans have been fully approved by the client, the building work is offered out to an approved landscape contractor who provides their price to build the garden. Once the client has approved the offer, work on building the garden can commence. Approved contractors with a proven reputation are employed by Wicked Garden Design to undertake the building work. Work is monitored by the designer who is responsible for all communication between the client and the contractor.

Aftercare

As part of the contractor’s agreement, they are responsible for the first year after building to replace any dead plant material or any faults with the building work. The designer shall inspect the garden two times during the year to check over the entire garden and offer any further advice to the client.
